• Exit junction 1 from the A1(M) - South Mimms
• Take the very first exit from the roundabout signposted Services and Royal Vet College, follow the road round to the left (not through traffic lights)
• At the mini roundabout straight on signposted Royal Vet College into Swanland Road
• After approx 1.5 miles along this road take second right signposted Royal Vet College into Warrengate Road, then first right into Hawkshead Lane
• Follow road to top of hill, pass some houses and you’ll come to the entrance to the Royal Vet College on the left

The Queen Mother Hospital is the large red brick building close to the road – turn right as you go through the main entrance. There is a large car park in front of the hospital.

We are lucky enough to be able to use the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals at the Royal Veterinary College. Out of hours, your call will be transferred directly to their experienced emergency staff.

If your pet is ill, it is often possible for them to go home for the night to their basket and return to us for treatment in the daytime, as the premises does not have living accommodation for staff. However, if your pet needs to stay in, they are checked regularly.

We hope to offer a good value service and will discuss fees and options with you. If you will have difficulty paying for treatment, we can discuss alternative treatments and ways to pay. We recommend pet insurance as the best way to budget for pet care.

We will use your details to remind you that your pet's vaccinations are due or to inform you of our products and services, however, we will not pass them on to a another party.

Pets' health records belong to the practice that sees the pet and when you change vets, it is standard for copies of the history to be sent to the new surgery, so that the vet is aware of previous illnesses in advance. This also happens if you would like a second opinion (when you would like another vet's view on your pet's condition) or a referral (when you would like a more specialist opinion).
